OP-XY (Drones)

When I first started working with the OP-XY’s internal synth engines, I wasn’t completely sure how far I could take them. But after spending many hours layering, experimenting, and really getting into the details, I started to discover the secret: layering is where these synths really start to shine. Stacking multiple voices, detuning, and shaping the envelopes opened up a whole new level of depth and texture.

While I was building this pack, we had several days of heavy rain where I live. That kind of weather always sets a certain mood — quiet, a bit heavy, and perfect for getting lost in sound. It definitely influenced the atmosphere of these patches.

This free pack blends ambient drones, evolving textures, and a few sounds inspired by the hazy, nostalgic vibe of Boards of Canada — all created entirely with the OP-XY’s internal synth engines. No samples, just pure synthesis shaped into layered tones and atmospheric soundscapes.

A few of these drones are slow evolving and may take 30 or 40 seconds before they fully open up — so take your time, let them breathe, and enjoy the textures as they unfold.

Installation Note:

These files are saved as full Projects, not individual presets. To load them, place the folders into your OP-XY’s Projects folder, not the Presets folder. Once imported, you can open each project to access the sounds and settings.
