Ambience As Ritual -ebook
Note Before You Begin
I originally created this outline as a personal reference—a way to organize my thoughts and approaches to ambient music-making. But over time, it started to feel like something worth sharing. So I put this together not just for myself, but for the wider ambient electronic music community—anyone who’s ever been drawn to texture, tone, and space in sound.
Ambience as Ritual was made with the OP–1 Field and OP–XY in mind, but the ideas inside can be applied to any setup—hardware, software, or something in between. Ambient music can move in so many directions. This guide simply offers one possible path: a blend of intuition, experimentation, and deep listening.
Whether you’re patching a modular system, playing a vintage synth, or working in a DAW, I hope this inspires you to approach sound with intention and curiosity—to make your own rituals, and discover what ambient means to you.
